The Cohen lab recently published a paper on AP-1 cis-regulatory activity. The paper, “Local sequence features that influence AP-1 cis-regulatory activity,” suggests that extended AP-1 binding sites, together with adjacent binding sites for additional TFs, encode part of the information that governs TFBS activity in the genome. Hemangi Chaudhari, Ph.D., a postdoc in the Cohen lab, is lead author on the study, along with Barak Cohen, Ph.D., Alvin Goldfarb Distinguished Professor in Computational Biology.
