The Wang lab published an article recently in Nature Genetics. The article, “Transposable elements drive widespread expression of oncogenes in human cancers,” discusses results that “characterize┬áthe global profile of (transposable element) onco-exaptation and highlight this prevalent phenomenon as an important mechanism for promiscuous oncogene activation and ultimately tumorigenesis,” the authors write. Hyo Sik (Josh) Jang, a graduate student in the Wang lab, is first author on the article. Ting Wang,┬áThe Sanford and Karen Loewentheil Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, is a senior author on the article.

Congratulations, all!
