The Wang lab published an article recently in Nature Genetics. The article, “Transposable elements drive widespread expression of oncogenes in human cancers,” discusses results that “characterize the global profile of (transposable element) onco-exaptation and highlight this prevalent phenomenon as an important mechanism for promiscuous oncogene activation and ultimately tumorigenesis,” the authors write. Hyo Sik (Josh) Jang, a graduate student in the Wang lab, is first author on the article. Ting Wang, The Sanford and Karen Loewentheil Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, is a senior author on the article.

Congratulations, all!
