Seminar abstract:  Transcriptional enhancers are a predominant class of non-coding functional DNA elements that control when and where genes are expressed. We use innovative mouse genome engineering and genomics techniques to address two questions about enhancer biology: 1. How do mutations in enhancers lead to human congenital disorders? and 2. How do enhancers relay regulatory information to their target genes over long genomic distances?
