"Expanding mechanisms and therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative disease" Hosted by: Dr. Jeffrey Milbrandt Location: Connor Auditorium (FLTC) Talk abstract: Human neurodegenerative diseases are associated with the accumulation of protein aggregates. I will describe recent efforts using genetic modifier screens in model systems and human genetics to define the mechanisms by which misfolded human disease proteins contribute to neurodegeneration. These studies have revealed new targets for therapeutic intervention.

Pan-cancer analysis of intra-tumor heterogeneity Hosted by: Dr. Sid Puram Location: Connor Auditorium (FLTC) Talk abstract: Over the last few years we have been investigating intra-tumor heterogeneity by applying single cell RNA-seq to various cancer types. I will present our results in specific contexts and our integrative pan-cancer analysis, highlighting recurrent patterns of heterogeneity.
