New MD/PhD student, Simona, joins the lab!

We’re welcoming a new graduate MD/PhD student, Simona Sarafinovska, to the lab. Simona just completed her pre-clinical MD training, and is beginning her PhD in the Neurosciences progam. She will be working with our new tool, Calling Cards, to investigate the transcriptional events that underly social learning and social motivation. Simona’s interested in how genetics and environment interact to affect development, especially within the context of social development and social stressors. She’s planning on pursuing a career in child psychiatry after she completes her training. A fun tidbit about Simona: she was born and raised in Skopje, Macedonia. Welcome, Simona!
