The Dougherty lab had a paper published recently in eNeuro. The paper, “The differences in local translatome across distinct neuron types is mediated by both baseline cellular differences and post-transcriptional mechanisms,” suggests that differences in local translation in neurites could contribute substantially to the heterogeneity in neuronal phenotypes. Rebecca Ouwenga, a graduate student in the Dougherty lab, is first author on the paper. Congratulations, all!
