The Milbrandt and DiAntonio Labs published a paper recently in Science, “TIR domains of plant immune receptors are NAD+-cleaving enzymes that promote cell death.” Kow Essuman, Ph.D., a graduate student in the Milbrandt Lab, is a lead author on the paper. Jeff Milbrandt, M.D., Ph.D., the James S. McDonnell Professor of Genetics and head of the Department of Genetics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and Aaron DiAntonio, M.D., Ph.D., Alan A and Edith L Wolff Professor of Developmental Biology at Washington University School of Medicine, are senior authors on the paper.
