Jeffrey Milbrandt, MD, PhD, the James S. McDonnell Professor and head of the Department of Genetics, and colleagues including William G. Powderly, MD, the J. William Campbell Professor of Medicine and director of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS); and Sean Whelan, the Marvin A. Brennecke Distinguished Professor and head of the Department of Molecular Microbiology, are leading Washington University School of Medicine’s COVID-19 task force. A major focus of the group’s work includes creating mouse models of COVID-19 infection and vaccine development.
