Heather Lawson, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics at Washington University School of Medicine, and Mike Provence, PhD, Professor of Genetics and Director of the Division of Statistical Genetics (DSG) at Washington University School of Medicine, recently got an NIH R01 award along with Thomas Baranski, MD, PhD, Director of WU Transgender Center and Associate Professor of Medicine and Developmental Biology at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Baranski, Dr. Lawson, and Dr. Province will use the award to utilize a high-throughput method to manipulate hundreds of suspected genes to hone in on the biology behind the human findings. This method could lead to new therapies and prevention approaches for obesity.

Congratulations, all!
