Tomás Lagunas Jr, a graduate student in the Dougherty Lab, recently won the student presentation award in Genetics at the SACNAS 2020 conference. The SACNAS organization is “dedicated to fostering the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM,” it said on its website.
