James Allen, PhD, a former graduate student in the labs of Dr. Jim Skeath, Professor of Genetics at Washington University School of Medicine, and the late Dr. Stephen Johnson, Professor of Genetics at Washington University School of Medicine, was recently named an HHMI Hanna Gray Postdoctoral Fellow.

James graduated in 2019 from the Molecular Genetics and Genomics program with a PhD. While at WashU, he carried out graduate work on stem cell quiescence in zebrafish.

James was named an HHMI Gilliam Fellow during graduate school. He is now carrying out postdoctoral studies on the genetic basis of pediatric cancers in Dr. David Langenau’s lab at Massachusetts General Hospital.
