 stand how enhancers control patterning and evolution of the face. Through c
 omparative multiomics of human and zebrafish heads\, we uncovered an unexpe
 cted gill origin of the outer ear. We are also analyzing how regional and c
 ell type specific transcription factors regulate highly restricted enhancer
  activity to pattern the distinct connective tissues of the jaw.</p><p>Host
