t: Mutations in genes which apply and remove DNA cytosine methylation\, suc
h as DNMT3A and TET2 are common in myeloid malignancies and precursor condi
tions such as clonal cytopenia of undetermined significance (CCUS). Cytosin
e methylation\, in addition to having created CpG islands over evolution\,
plays a substantial role in the reversible control of enhancers\, catalyzed
 by DNMT3A and TET2 respectively. Vitamin C is essential for TET2 activity\
, and our phase 2 randomized clinical trial shows that oral vitamin C may p
rolong the overall survival of CCUS patients with wild type\, but not mutat
ed TET2.

Host: Dr. Tim Schedl

<img class="aligncenter wp-image-
