Abstract: Dr. Mefford will provide an overview of gene discovery (past and present) in the severe pediatric epilepsies known as developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. She will provide examples of ongoing work to model rare epilepsy disorders using patient-derived cellular models and to develop gene-targeted therapeutic approaches to improve treatment.
