Presents:  Understanding the genetic basis of brain disorders through machine learning and comparative genomics

Host: Dr. Yang Li

In person only:  Connor Auditorium (FLTC)

Abstract: The cell type heterogeneity of the brain poses major challenges in understanding and treating neurological and psychiatric disorders. In this talk, I’ll describe how comparative genomics can be leveraged to link specific cell types to a variety of neural traits. Then, I will describe how artificial intelligence and high-throughput genomics can be applied to target those cell types, with applications in addiction and chronic pain.
