Presents: Metabolic signaling in transcriptional control of heart failure
Host: Dr. Peter Jin

Abstract: Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death, and diabetes enhances susceptibility and severity of heart failure. Epidemiological studies support the hypothesis that poor glycemic control, even after corrected, impacts disease pathology. We will discuss evidence for glucose-mediated regulation of the transcriptional changes that are associated with pathological cardiac remodeling in this context.
