Title: (Pan)genomics in an emerging model clade: North American deer mice
Hosted by: Tychele Turner, PhD
Abstract: Our understanding of the mechanisms that allow organisms to adapt to their environment and how behaviors evolve is still limited. Deer mice comprise a diverse group of closely related (sub)species that have adapted to almost every terrestrial habitat in North America. We will discuss how growing genomic resources, in combination with their rich natural history, make deer mice an attractive system for evolutionary genetic and genomic research.
