Presents: “Microbial contributions to digestive health: Perspectives from your inner fish”
Host: Genetics Students/Postdocs
In person only: Connor Auditorium
Abstract: Microbiomes serve as key environmental factors in many aspects of animal health and disease, but underlying mechanisms are incompletely understood. My lab uses complementary gnotobiotic zebrafish and mouse model along with functional genomic and physiological assays to discern microbial contributions to digestive health and disease. This seminar will focus on our recent findings in the zebrafish identifying conserved mechanisms by which host-microbe interactions affect gut-brain communication and dietary fat metabolism.
