Presents: Neuroplastic changes in the amygdala in the transition to chronic pain

Host:  Dr. Guoyan Zhao

In person only:  Connor Auditorium (FLTC)

Abstract:  The amygdala plays an important role at the intersection of sensory/nociceptive and affective pain components/mechanisms. Neuroplasticity in the amygdala              is causally linked to pain behaviors but underlying mechanisms change in the transition to chronic pain. Neuroimmune signaling plays an important role in the chronification of amygdala neuroplasticity and pain behaviors.
