presents: “Histone mutations in human cancer and developmental disorders.”
Hosted by: Dr. Rob Mitra
In-person only:  Connor Auditorium (FLTC)

Abstract:

Chromatin contains DNA and histone proteins encoded by multiple genes (e.g., 15 genes/haploid genome for histone H3). Interestingly, mutations in just one of several copies of histone genes have been recently identified in various cancer types and developmental disorders. My talk will focus on the expanded landscape of cancer-associated histone mutations as well as decipher how histone germline mutations dysregulate chromatin function and impact brain development.
